Nature of God

The Bible tells us who is created and it is not Jesus

The core doctrine of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is their belief that the Lord Jesus Christ is a created being – the archangel Michael, who then created all other things. However, the Bible never mentions that God’s only-begotten son and the Word of God whom He sends as the Messiah is a created being, but instead the Bible declares that Jesus is God as in deity/divine; where the word 'God' is an adjective describing His nature, but Jesus is not the person God who is His father alone.

There is yet another Bible proof that Jesus is not a created angel and He is deity. This proof is based in the Bible truth of who the Bible actually says is created. The Bible only speaks of one specific heavenly being, an angel, who is created and it is not Jesus. This angel is even said to be created perfect. Contrary to what the Jehovah’s Witnesses want us to believe, the only time the Bible speaks of a created perfect angel, is when the Bible refers to the enemy, Satan, and not Jesus.

In Ezekiel 28:11-16, God describes the enemy.

Ezekiel 28:

11   Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

12   "Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: " You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13   You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

14   " You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

15   You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.

16   " By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones.   (NKJV)

The reader must carefully note what God is saying in Ezekiel 28 to see why the Lord Jesus cannot be a created angel.

God is telling us that the enemy is a created angel and not only that, but the enemy was created perfect. God mentions it no less than three different times (twice in verse 12 and once in verse 15); when God wants us to know something, He tells us and He repeats it:

Verse 12:

‘Thus says the Lord GOD:
“ You were the seal of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

Verse 15:

You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till iniquity was found in you.

The first question directed at those who believe the Lord Jesus was created, would be:

If the enemy was created perfect, than what was the Lord Jesus?

The meaning of the word perfect means “being entirely without fault or defect; flawless”. (

According to those who believe Jesus was created, this means Jesus must be an angel who was created more perfect than the perfect angel Satan. However, this does not make sense, because the meaning of the word perfect already signifies the highest level of being/condition. If the Lord Jesus was a created being as some believe, than at most He can only be another perfect created being like Satan and be His equal. Otherwise, if He is a greater created being than Satan, then the Lord Jesus would be called the perfect created being, not Satan, but the Bible never says Jesus is created, but only says it is Satan alone who is created perfect.

However, this viewpoint assumes that the Lord Jesus is Himself a perfect created angel who created all “other” things. Therefore, it wants us to believe that a perfect created angel created another perfect angel. But doesn’t that mean that Jesus is greater? And then He would be the perfect created angel?

And just where exactly does the Bible say He created a perfect angel who created another perfect angel and all other things?

The Bible truth is that God only says once that a perfect angel was created – and it was the enemy, not the Son of God.

Of course, the real point when the Bible says that the enemy was created perfect is that Satan is the most perfect of all created beings and the Lord Jesus is greater than the enemy, and His perfection is greater, because it is true perfection. This is so, because the Lord Jesus is deity and is not created.

We know this to be true, because what God tells us in Ezekiel 28 is the only time there is any mention of God creating someone perfect while on the other hand, there is absolutely no mention of the Lord Jesus being created at all – remember, the word “other” had to be inserted 5 times in Colossians 1 of the Jehovah’s Witnesses New World Translation to try to support this lie!

What God is telling us in Ezekiel 28 is this:

1) There is mention of a perfect created angel only once in the Bible and it describes the enemy.

2) The Lord Jesus cannot be a perfectly created angel since God’s Word reserves this description

     for the enemy only.

3)   As seen in the enemy’s example, even a perfect created angel cannot be sinless.

4)   Therefore, only something greater than a perfect created angel can be sinless.

5)   The Lord Jesus was and is perfectly sinless.

6)   The Lord Jesus is greater than the perfect created angel.

7)   Since the Lord Jesus is greater than the perfect created angel,

and He is the creator as well as the perfect sinless atonement, then He cannot be said to be created.

8)   As the only-begotten Son of God, the Lord Jesus is also God (deity/divine) and not created.

The declaration the Bible makes is this:

Nothing created can atone, because it is not God/deity and therefore not truly perfect.

It can only be called perfectly created.

Angels can sin – even ones created perfectly.

But God cannot sin and neither can His only-begotten son. These facts are irrefutable.

True perfection is God.

Nothing created can be sinless and atone. Perfection is required and cannot come from a created being.

However, the Lord Jesus is sinless and has atoned for our sins. God provided the atonement for our sins in His only-begotten son Jesus. Perfection is required and the only way perfection can come was in the person of the Lord Jesus.

Therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ is not a created being – He is God (deity/divine).
